I downloaded it an installed it, closed and opened Open Office again, then went to extension manager, and it seems it is indeed installed (although I didn't get a chance to 'enable' it.but when I open Draw and try to 'Open' my.pdf document (that I want to edit, in that I want to take text from it and put it into a WORD document), it gives me a a document with a number of pages in it that contain complete gobbledygook for the first few lines and then leave the rest of the page blank, and the document contains a number of pages like this. The original.pdf document is quite long. How can I correct this, is this plug-in not supposed to just open the.pdf document in 'OpenOffice Draw'? What am I doing wrong?. or to post comments.
I have experienced some Java extensions under development that would not load on some computers but would on others; experiment showed that this inability to load was due to interference from previously loaded Java extensions, which had been loaded on some of the computers but not on others. In all cases that I remember there was an error message from Java. Other than suggesting you investigate the version of Java installed on the Mac and perhaps make your extension available for other Mac users to try, I can be of no further help. Neither it seems to deal with any previous set of extensions installed. I have tried few different.oxt being developed and there seems to issue with all of them, Manytimes, open office hangs, another times proper output as being displayed in linux is not being shown. The issue seems to be something else, that I am searching on. According to the known issues in the release notes ( ): 'Mac OS X: Due to a known bug in Oracle Java installations of Apache OpenOffice on OSX that do not have the legacy Apple Java 6 installed will not be able to recognize Oracle Java 7, 8, and possibly 9. The work around until the Java bug is fixed is to install the legacy version of Apple Java from the following link: Legacy Apple Java 6.
This will allow the portions of AOO that require Java to run properly.' Also, there is a bug in AOO 4.1.2. The database and mail-merge can't access Java. I don't know if this bug affects extensions. Both legacy Apple Java 6 and other jre's, simultaneously. I have even tried installing AOO 4.1.0, and could not be installed below that version in OS X (version = 10.7). Mine is OS X EI Capitan version 10.11.3. But even degrading Aoo, didn't solved the issue. I have both AOO 4.1.2 and AOO 4.1.1 installed on my Mac.
(AOO 4.1.1 is in a subfolder in my application folder) You need to bypass the gatekeeper function in OS X in order to install AOO. Instructions are in the release notes known issues. I gave you the URL in my last post. You should upgrade OS X to OS X ver. 10.11.6, which came out last Monday.
