Hoping you can help me Does anyone know if your group's nvidia webdriver updater will successfully flash the ROM in the non-approved (by Apple!) 8800 GTS (the GT was approved, but not the GTS) - so it will work in a mac pro 3,1 with El Capitan? I have the same 8-core MP 3,1 config, that runs a 'silent' 8600 GTS (G84) without flashing it (so without bootup Apple logo). But I also have an 8800 GTX (G80) that I would like to find a compatible BIOS for. Im in the process of collecting different old graphics cards and see what I can make work best. I did flash the Mac version of Quadro 5600 onto the 8800, but just bricked it temporarily so no go.
Going to try a GF GTX 460 also. The idea is to get full MP compatibility with acceleration for Photoshop, Premiere etc but not for gaming. I am doing my best to learn and to 'cook' a proper EFI-bios onto the cards and see what works best. Will report back what I find out. Edit after a brief test: The GTX 460 works fine in my MP after flashing with GOPupd-enhanced ROM.
Except that it still behaves like any other PC card, with no picture before the OSX desktop or 'Starting windows' in Bootcamp. So even if I managed to make it PC UEFI compatible, its still not a Mac EFI card. Did anyone make this work with a similar card? What ROM file?

Hi guys, So, this little tutorial is meant to help people fix a new issue with Mojave: opening jpg files (looks like it happens with larger files, not so much with smaller ones) using Quick Look (on spacebar key pressed) or Preview app using the dedicated GPUs. The issue is that, when trying to open jpg files (for some reason, it doesn't occur with pngs), the pop-up window would remain in an endless loop. And from that point forward, any other app trying to open the same file, will either become unresponsive (in the case of the Preview app) or just stay in endless loop (in case of Quick Look) As a workaround, in case the tutorial below doesn't work for you, you can use Grab (built-in app in MacOS) to open said files. This issues DOES NOT occur using the iGPU. So.if you're comfortable using the iGPU, just switch to that and you should be good to go. You don't need this tutorial. This tutorial is based on @Cyberdevs' research and testing on this topic (especially useful if you're using an RX series AMD video card), and my own very limited time testing this on my rig.

It's a Lilu plugin (which means that it requires Lilu.kext in order to work) it's called NoVPAJpeg, and it can be downloaded from here. You use it as a regular kext, alongside Lilu. I prefer (and recommend) using it within the EFI folder, in Clover/kexts/Other.
But if you want to use it in S/L/E, that should work just fine. More info can be found in this post here.

In case you wanna try alternative medicine. The main thing we need to do is actually very simple: we need to enable the iGPU (integrated GPU) by default, in BIOS, while actually being connected to the dedicated GPU.

SUCCESS I created Mojave USB installer from scratch using the latest Clover, it worked fine, got me to the Mojave install screen. PROBLEM For reasons unknown to me, I decided for one last ditch effort to see if I could get my already installed Mojave playing nicer - instead of starting over clean. So I installed the latest Clover on my Mojave SSD, (it had a Clover version YEARS ago when I last installed Mavericks) and I replaced the EFI file with the kexts and config of my USB EFI file because I figured, since the USB installer launched, it was all good to go. Now nothing boots after BIOS. Not my Mavericks drive, Mojave SSD, nor my USB Mojave Installer. They all hang right where Clover usually launches. I look at my USB lights and nothing flashes.
The only drive I can use is Windows 8.1 (my testing environment) and not from Clover. That's just booting windows up without any HD's plugged in. Is there a way to rescue my predicament?
