Mixmeister Equivalent For Mac
Mixmeister should better drop MacOs, nothing then trouble with it. All of that said there is no alternative to mixmeister for putting together a mix without actually.
There's no point in sending anything to Apple. They do not provide support for any third-party products nor does the Discussions. Unless you can provide some evidence that the problem is a bug in OS X then there's no point in reporting anything to the engineers. If this is a hardware peripheral then it may still no longer be compatible regardless of whether it uses third-party drivers or not.
It runs on internal firmware that may no longer function with the newest version of OS X. If you desire to send a report, however, you can do so at. I am having the same problem on my new Mac OS X 10.6.4.I have been using Mixmeister for 10yrs on a PC and have never had any problems until now. I upgraded to Fusion & bought the Numark DJ/IO that Mixmeister recommended for Previewing and I can't get it to work.I'm glad to see your message because I was going crazy trying to figure it out.
So far I am not happy with Fusion for the Mac.Import is way to slow, It doesn't save your last screen config. I have to reconfigure all columns every time I open the program. When using the Effects Rack: when you select the 'Show the Effect Control Panel' it will shut down the program.NOT GOOD! I'll be sending Mixmeister my Report.until then I will not be using Mixmeister on the Mac.
I just stumbled on your message. I had the same problem a few months ago, I thought it was an install problem bought an uninstall soft for mac etc. Still same problem moving columns would freeze the program. Eventually I contacted MMeister and was told after a few emails that. They were aware of the problem and that they had no current solution. Really pi@@%$ me off. Like you have been using MM for years and bar some below the bar sound encoding and the nasty habit of MM to change my WMP library ID tags, the rest was perfect for my levels of skills.
Knowing that they knew of the problem and still sold their program as mac ready really annoyed me. But I see you still have the problem hence not solved. Try traktor a bit hard to use but non of those problems on mac.
This is my first post. I apologize for how lengthy it may be, I'm new at this forum 'thing'. I DJ for fun and recently decided to upgrade my system to a digital program using MixMeister and I am not getting the results I was hoping for, as well. I just read the questions and replies for this discussion regarding MixMeister Fusion and Mac. I still have the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard and I am also experiencing application issues with MM Fusion such as freezing, unexpected quitting, slow response time or unable to preview with sound card using headphones while playing live. I doubled checked and the Installation requirements for MM Fusion does specify that Mac OS X v10.5 - v10.6 and up are compatible with MM Fusion v7.4.4. So why is this an issue for some of us?
Surely, there are success stories out there? I know that Apple does not answer questions for 3rd party vendors. I also am aware (from other posts) that the 3rd party vendor does know about the issues at hand and does not have an answer at this time.
That is too bad! I am determined to take this a step further to research and find out why these unexpected predicaments keep happening. I am in no way, shape, or form. A 'snazzy' computer 'wiz'. All I'm trying to do is think outside the box to remedy this situation for myself and other DJ's. So with that being said, there has to be something that we are missing? I found out that most external sound cards do not function well with Mac or have low audio quality.
Most of the external sound cards you buy at the local electronic store are mainly intended for PC instead of Mac. So I did a little experimenting and found out that (depending on what you want to spend) an external audio interface for recording music & lyrics may do the trick. I purchased the M-Audio MobilePre USB audio/recording device. I installed the software, hooked it up to a USB port on my MacBook, and then hooked it up to my mixer board thru the headphones jack on the device. I was amazed at how much better the audio quality was compared to my original sound card. However, this did leave me with another problem, previewing a song while I'm playing live.
I plugged my headphones thru the headphone jack on the MacBook and couldn't get sound even when I re-configured the sound output to dual mode. So, I purchased a separate USB headphone set. (You can use wired or wireless USB headphones.) Still, the sound wasn't very loud in my preview ear, but it did do the trick. Finally, MM Fusion worked the way I wanted it to. After playing an hour or two in to my gig, I added a song to my playlist and adjusted the transition, when, all of a sudden the cursor went into a 'spinning gear (color wheel)' for several seconds.
Mixmeister Alternative For Mac
The song playing live actually finished out but didn't transition to the next one. Then the MM Fusion application quit unexpectedly. Luckily I had a CD ready to play in my mixer. Things for me to consider? Close out any other apps that may be running. Allocate Memory appropriately or add more memory to my computer?
Re-Install System Software and perform a clean installation may fix problems with extensions or plug-ins that become incompatible after updates? Or Delete and Re-install the Application? Sometimes its necessary after a software update. I read on Apple support that sometimes not all software updates are compatible with older versions of some applications or vice versa.
Use a completely different type of sound card or audio interface. Use a more compatible Application for mixing my music live. These are just a few things that I'm still trying to figure out. Maybe there is an answer here for someone?
Any feedback would be good. At first I thought I had a solution, but later realized that I end up with more questions? Figured it out!!!! I am running Mixmeister Fusion 7.4.3 on my MacBook Pro running Mac OSX 10.7. I have no issues getting dual audio output to work with my Mac or my Mixmeister Control board.
I am using a Sabrent USB soundcard. It's plug and play no drivers are required. I have output audio going out of the USB card to external speakers and the MacBook Pro internal sound card as my preview. I had to go to the Audio MIDI setup to turn up the levels so I can hear the preview audio over the 'live' output but it works perfectly.
Hope this helps. Terrence Pitts (Mid 2010 17' inch MacBook Pro, Mac OSX 10.7, 2.53 Ghz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB 7200 Hard Drive). Apple Footer. Parafac matlab download for mac.
