So something must be trying to access the router from the printer. I found that if I click the lan setup in the router and the wan setup in the router and hit apply in each one then try to go to the printer login page 192.168.1.9 it will connect then I can print, but later on in the day same thing, no connection to the printer to have to do it all over again in the lan and wan in the router.

Now not but 15 minutes ago I printed a page and not it can't display the page for the 192.168.1.9 printer login page. I also seen rather then going through the router to network you can set up computers to connect HOC or something like that, but still it should connect to the router to the network then computer wirelessly, that is what a wireless printer was made for. My setup is printer wireless to router and laptops wireless also. Now, maybe it would be better to connect the usb to the router?

Ron, Since you have a dual band wireless router, you need to set it up twice. The printer uses the wireless G mode and for faster speeds, your computer wants to use the wireless N speeds.

You need to make a ron351G network using these, I use channel 11. The make a ron351N network using similar settings.

You may want to use WPA-AES if it will work to get a faster speed. If you cannot communicate with the printer, you may have to drop back to WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(Personal) on the wireless N network. Any changes require you to setupm the printer again.

Run to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue. Disconnect the printer. Uninstall the printer. Restart your computer.

Thanks for the reply Rick, I have the router configured on both channels the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands and the printer is set with the SSID for the 2.4ghz band which supports B G N and set the SSID to the WPA-PSK TKIP + WPA2-PSK AES encryption mode. This way covers all my older/newer devices. I have unchecked the power options in devices and currently downloading the drivers as in the link on your post which I hope isn't older then the one installed.

I have the printer configured to the 2.4GHZ channel 11 on the router, the 5GHZ is for video streaming on the router, so the 5G shouldnt affect the printer. Im thinking of attempting the AD HOC setup which I think if I read it right connects directly to the printer rather then through the router network side, maybe not. All I know is that when it don't connect I can go into the router and click LAN and hit the apply button and same with the WAN setup and just hit the apply button without doing anything and it seems to refresh what is connecting to the router and then the printer will be ok again for a while. In the printer setup I unchecked DCHP because I set up the printer outside the DCHP pool of IP addresses in case power goes out I won't loose the IP address to the printer, so I set it up as a static IP to the printer on 192.168.1.9 and the DCHP pool of IP numbers from 2-8 There should be no issue by doing it this way. I do the same thing with a DVR on a wireless print server for my security cameras so I can view the house remotely without loosing that IP address in case of power loss.

I didn't want my printer or DVR within the DCHP pool to have it assign different ip addresses if a outage should occur. So for now I am still clueless as why it keeps loosing the connection for wireless. Ron, Setting up the printer for Ad-Hoc can beapain. You would have to connect each time to print and you'd probably have to disconnect from your network to print. No a very good choice.

I leave my wireless router on DHCP.I have a pool of 50 numbers, 192.168.X.1 is the default gateway and goes from 192.168.x.101 to 192.168.x.150 I keep a big pool of ip addresses in case someone comes over to the house and needs to connect. I gave my first printer attached to a wireless print server an static ip address of 192.168.x 149 and then my Dell V715w Wireless Printer a static ip address of 192.168.x. 145 This allows using DHCP but will not allow another device to use the printers ip address. I think it has to be in the range of assigned ip addresses. You are NOT using Mac address filtering, correct?

Does your printer have a light for the wireless card? If so, can you tell if it's connected to your network? You may have to attach the USB Cable to set up the ip address in range.

What virus protection and firewall are you using? Before I forget, I have the firewall turned off on the wireless router, so everyone uses the virus protection and firewalls on each computer.
